SUMMARY After updating my kernel from 6.13.2 to 6.14.2 I started to experience multiple glitches and hangs in Plasma. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Update Linux to 6.14.2. OBSERVED RESULT Multiple hangs and glitches: Right after boot my desktop is completely unresponsive for ~30 seconds, clicking stuff in the taskbar doesn't do anything. The Wi-Fi doesn't connect. Sometimes it crashes (I assume), because the taskbar disappears and then after a few seconds appears again. When shutting down there's a ~15 seconds hang with some errors on the screen about watchdog (I guess some process is not responding?). EXPECTED RESULT Plasma works normally. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS OS: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.12.0 Qt Version: 6.9.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Rolling back to Linux 6.13.2 fixes all the issues. The glitches are persistent and reproducible across reboots on 6.14.2. I can provide more debug logs and test something if you tell me where to look / what to do. The problem seems to be fully reproducible.
It sounds like a bad kernel update if it's caused so much havoc across so many parts of the system, and if an older version fixes the issues. I'd recommend talking to your distro about it.
