Did Haruna developers considered libvlc as a backend?

I like Haruna look and feel, I usually watch video on my computer while being on battery and in low power mode.

Sadly mpv shutter and drop frames on low power mode (youtube with firefox aswell) but vlc has a smooth playback. 

My computer battery can handle a full length movie only while on the cpu is in low power mode.

I'm willing to implement this if the developers are open to it.
