Description Waqar Ahmed 2025-04-18 05:30:39 UTC
SUMMARY

After waking the laptop from sleep, lockscreen doesn't accept keyboard input (with an external screen). This happens from time to time. Even the virtual on screen keyboard doesn't work.

Saw this thread: https://discuss.kde.org/t/kde-will-not-accept-keyboard-input-on-unlock-screen/1878/2?page=2 and it was suggested to plug/unplug the screen. After doing that, keyboard started working.

Seems like its accepting input, just that the line edit looks empty visually but it actually has content. If I unplug the screen, it starts showing dots. This is consistently reproducible since a couple of days.

If I "Switch to external screen" or "Switch to laptop screen", there is no bug.

It only happens with "unify outputs"

I'm not able to reproduce this on git-master X11

Does this happen only with X11 or with Wayland also?

No idea, I hardly ever use Wayland.

Setting back to REPORTED to prevent auto close of ticket

It seems like its a bit random, right now I was not able to reproduce. But it suddenly starts reproducing. (Still on the same plasma version).

Bit unrelated, there is definitely a focus issue with the Password Lineedit. Sometimes I can directly type the password after locking the screen, other times I need to manually click in the field.
