Currently the "About this system" page of System Settings only shows how many GB of RAM the computer has, but it doesn't show any identifying info about the model, like we have for graphics processors.

It would be useful for upgrading RAM without having to open up the PC/Notebook just to look at it.

Why would the model matter? Isn't RAM RAM?

Of course, but is that really relevant information to show here? The CPU and GPU entries don't tell you about which sockets or PCI slots they use. I think that's out of scope for the simple display we're aiming for here.
