Animation when switching: Fade Desktop, causing panel to stay hidden with translucency

SUMMARY
Under these conditions the panel will stay hidden if auto hide+animate when switching desktops+translucency is enabled.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Setup 4 virtual desktops
2. Set panel to:
* Position: Top
* Alignment: Center
* Width: Fit Content
* Visibility: Auto Hide
* Opacity: Translucent
* Style: Floating
* Panel Height: 48
3. Use Icons-Only Task Manager
4. System Settings/Window Management/Desktop Effects/Translucency: Enabled
5. Open at least 1 app in virtual desktops 2, 3, and 4
6. Switching to desktops 2, 3, and 4 should work fine (sometimes), then switch to desktop 1 which shouldn't have any apps open, allow the panel to hide, and the panel will stay hidden while trying to access it by moving the mouse cursor to the top of the screen. You can still access the panel with the Start Key.

OBSERVED RESULT
Under the conditions set above switching to desktops 2, 3, and 4 should work fine (sometimes), then switch to desktop 1 which shouldn't have any apps open, allow the panel to hide, and the panel will stay hidden while trying to access it by moving the mouse cursor to the top of the screen. You can still access the panel with the Start Key. Also, disabling translucency across the board will allow switching with animations to work properly.

EXPECTED RESULT
Auto hide should work properly regardless of how many effects chosen.

I'm not able to immediately reproduce this on git-master Plasma, Qt 6.8.3
I'll leave this open in case someone else can, particularly someone with Qt 6.9.0

I can't reproduce it either on yesterday's git master on KDE Linux.

Felix, are you still able to reproduce the issue as originally described in Plasma 6.4 or later?
Comment 3 Felix Delacruz 2025-08-20 18:23:34 UTC
This is no longer happening for me. Not quite sure when this stopped since I just keep the panel to be "Always Visible" now from being so frustrated that it kept getting stuck, but I can confirm that after setting back everyting to the original parameters from when I first reported this that it is no longer happening. Thank you for taking the time to look into this.
