SUMMARY

My dial can zoom out the screen, but not zoom in. Nothing was spilled or damaged either in the tablet. It can zoom on goggle cards, but can't on Krita and only Krita. My graphic tablet is XP-Pen 15.6. Also it worked on Krita's previous version (e.g earlier and Krita summer 2024 version, idk which)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use knob can't zoom in, but can zoom out. When I zoom out, it shows the standard Ctrl++ but Ctrl- (zooming in) doesn't work. It's as if this function doesn't exist at all.
2. I installed the new drivers to my tablet, but it's not their problem. Nothing works.

OBSERVED RESULT

It can't zoom in, only zoom out.

EXPECTED RESULT

It should zoom in and zoom out.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: ✅
macOS:
(available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window)
Linux/KDE Plasma:
KDE Plasma Version:
KDE Frameworks Version:
Qt Version:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I talked with the support for my tablet, but they did everything. It seems that it's a bug (sth like that) on Krita.

Thanks for your report!

The issue where you can zoom out (but not in) with the tablet dial is known and will be fixed in the next released version of Krita.

In the mean time, you should be able to work around this by following these steps:
1. Open Krita
2. From the menu bar, click "Settings", then click "Configure Krita"
3. On the left panel of the settings, click "Keyboard Shortcuts
4. On the right panel of the settings, navigate to the row for "Zoom In" (you should find it within the "Menu" -> "View" group)
5. Double-click on either one of the "Shortcut" or "Alternate" shortcut spots for "Zoom In"
6. A small popup should appear that lets you change the shortcut. Click the button to set a custom shortcut within that popup. The spot you clicked should now say "Input..."
7. Turn the tablet's scroll wheel in the "zoom in" direction.

> When I zoom out, it shows the standard Ctrl++ but Ctrl- (zooming in) doesn't work.
The shortcuts are typically Ctrl++ for zoom in and Ctrl+- for zoom out, but you can reverse them from the same settings page if you'd like.

I am not sure myself.
There are prerelease versions of Krita available that include the fix, but being preleases, they may not be considered quite as stable as a final release. There are two sets of prereleases available, one that should contain bug fixes only, and one that is more experimental.

If you would like to try it, the bugfix prelease can be found at https://cdn.kde.org/ci-builds/graphics/krita/krita-5.2/windows/
(If you use the "Windows Portable" version of Krita, you'll want to get the one that ends with ".zip" but not "-dbg.zip"; if you use the "Windows Installer", I believe you'll want the one ending in "-setup.exe")

That said, the issue as I'm aware of it is that the default shortcut for zoom in in Krita 5.2.9 changed from Ctrl++ to Ctrl+=. This has now been fixed by making both Ctrl+= and Ctrl++ work for zooming in.

The instructions that I provided in my earlier message are quite similar in their effect to what will be in the next update. If the instructions didn't work for you, there may be some other issue that you are experiencing, and updating won't fix that.
If you tried following them, did zooming in or out still not work as you expected?
