Description andrew 2025-04-08 13:22:11 UTC
SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Firefox (just an example) on monitor A.
2. Open Dolphin (just an example) on monitor B.
2. Drag a file from Dolphin and drop it in Firefox.

OBSERVED RESULT
The file is not dropped into Firefox. You need to retry multiple times. If I drag and drop between Dolphin and Firefox on the same monitor, it always works. When using two monitors, it works only sometimes.

EXPECTED RESULT
It should work as expected.

When I test using those steps on git master, it works as expected for me. Admittedly I'm using Librewolf instead of Firefox, but it's a fork, so mostly the same thing.

Does this happen in a new clean user account on the same machine with no customization? Can you test?

It doesn't seem to reproduce on another user, however it happens as well in my colleague's pc which is next to me, we both use archlinux with the same version of kde but it has been happening for a long time.

at least i don't have any customization, i only have 125% scaling and black theme, i haven't installed plugins or done any kind of customization to kde.

it seems that the bug often reproduces more often after long hours of work.

6.5 contained some dnd fixes specifically for Firefox. Is the issue still reproducible in 6.5?
