Description Chris 2025-04-06 19:00:30 UTC
SUMMARY

When a Transform effect is added to the entire track, then a transform effect is added to the clip media, it creates a blur on the video track as if it is distorting it. This result also shows when the clip is exported. This occurs on both the latest flatpak and appimage version 24.12.2 and 24.12.3

I tested older versions and it is not occurring on version 24.08.03.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add a video clip to the timeline like a screen recording recorded with OBS
2. Add a transform effect to the entire track that is on
3. Add a transform effect to the clip on the timeline. Examine if the visuals of the clip changes, it should become blurry.

OBSERVED RESULT

The older version is not producing the issue so I will export on that version for the time being.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 40 not using KDE desktop, it is an xfce spinoff tiling window manager.

KDE Plasma Version: Whatever ships with Flatpak
KDE Frameworks Version: Whatever ships with Flatpak
Qt Version: Whatever ships with Fedora 40

Please try the appimage. Kdenlive on Fedora has known issues due to Fedora's handling of Flatpaks (they do their own packaging).

I just tested it with one of the latest builds and cannot see any blurring or distortion of any kind using your scenario.

I’ve tried the appimage I could confirm that the issue does not occur on
version 24.12.0. It occurs for me on versions higher than that.
