Description stephen 2025-04-06 04:18:16 UTC
SUMMARY
For some reason, the search function has become very laggy,
wherever it's available( filter -> halftone-> pattern search, brush preset search, etc

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Get into the brush preset interface or pattern interface
2. In the search bar, try to type something

OBSERVED RESULT
Very laggy behavior of the feature as you type a letter in the
bar

EXPECTED RESULT
No lag at all

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows 10

Confirmed. It also happens on 5.2.x if the resource cache was modified by 5.3.x.

This should be fixed now, as the metadata fixes and refactors got merged a few hours ago. If it still happens, don't hesitate to reopen!

Is it pushed for the 5.2 builds too?

Because it is so huge, the patch is very hard to backport. It might even be that we will not backport it at all, given that the problem it fixes only happens when you use the nightlies.
