SUMMARY
When browsing through kickoff, I noticed that the highlight or hover effect that the elements on screen receive, are occupying each other's spaces vertically. (Screenshot attached) This should not be. The gallery should allow for enough space for highlights to not overlap.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Access kickoff
2. Move mouse across a few application icons vertically
3. Notice how the hover effect is taller than it should be

This is going to be due to your font settings. It isn't seen with the default 10pt Noto Sans. But also can't reproduce it with 10, 11, or 12pt Inter. What are your font settings? Can you take a screenshot of the fonts KCM?

I thought I remembered you used Inter 11. I can't reproduce the issue when I replicate those font settings, though.

Is it 100% reproducible for you even after rebooting?

Can you make a screen recording that shows it happening? You can do so in Spectacle, and there's even a global Meta+R shortcut to invoke it globally.

It is for me, yes. I did a few tests yesterday and rebooted. The overlap was still there.
