SUMMARY If you leave your computer on for too long with the latest version KDE (others weren't tested), you have to force reboot your computer to get it working again (with an automatically turning off monitor.) STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Get a fresh install / live cd of the latest KDE version 2. Let it sit without changing settings 3. Come back to the screen OBSERVED RESULT Black unresponsive screen, unresponsive keyboard, nothing could wake it up. EXPECTED RESULT Login screen SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: latest KDE Plasma Version: latest KDE Frameworks Version: latest Qt Version: latest I put latest for all of them since they don't need a update and I'm too tired to currently check. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I lost essentially my entire Windows install, my monitor does automatically turn off. To fix it you have to make your monitor never turn off the screen which may be terrible if you have a high power cost area. Additionally, nothing important was lost thankfully though I was resizing partitions.
