SUMMARY Since dolphin version 24.12.3 new style of the location bar was introduced. The individual folders in the filepath closely resemble the tabs that are just in the bar bellow. This is causing confusion in clicking on a different folder in the filepath instead of clicking on different tab and vica versa. Please bring back the older style that was used till 24.12.2 (or somehow adjust the current style so it is clearly distinguishable from the tab bar). STEPS TO REPRODUCE Open several tabs with some longer filepaths and try to navigate in it on regular bases. I use Breath Dark theme, but I think it affect all the themes. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Manjaro Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.12.0 Qt Version: 6.8.2 Kernel Version: 6.12.19-1-MANJARO (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11
I was going to make the same bug report, but had a feeling someone else already noticed the same thing. I completely agree with @ralen. I find myself confusing the folder navigation with "tabs". (This is especially true if I do not have any tabs open. It looks like the location bar has tabs open.) This correctly looks like descending into folders on the location bar: Images > Vacation > 2019 This also correctly looks like a folder hierarchy: Documents > Taxes > 2019 This looks like I have three tabs open: Images | Vacation | 2019 This also looks like three tabs are open: Documents | Taxes | 2019 The style before this update was superior in every regard. What was the purpose of making the folder navigation in the location bar appear ambiguous? What problem was being solved with this update? The style should be reverted. There was no need for this change.
