STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Load KDE 2. Open applications and use system as usual. 3. Observe in System Monitor / HTOP / BTOP as KWIN usage rises drastically. OBSERVED RESULT CPU usage rises above 80% for KWIN. EXPECTED RESULT KWIN intended to use a less extreme amount of CPU as it lags other software. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Wayland KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.12.0 Qt Version: 6.8.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hi - could you please provide a bit more information about what you're seeing: * What is your graphics card situation - Intel/AMD/NVIDIA, driver version if applicable? * Does this issue begin as soon as the system starts, or does it start normally and then increase CPU usage with each open window? * Does the issue remain when the system is idle for a while? * Does CPU usage decrease if you close all applications, or does it stay stuck at a high usage level? (Thinking this may be connected to the underlying issues in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=486214 ) Thanks!
