SUMMARY
My database is stored locally - files on network. When starting digiKam, it takes +5 minutes until UI is open.

Database is approx 16GB

EXPECTED RESULT
That it would load *much* faster. By comparison, Picasa (which I still use), loads same libraries nearly instantaneously. 
That said, digiKam is the *first* piece of software I've found to actually replace Picasa - thank you for all you do!!
