Camera Import

I am having trouble connecting the camera to digiKam, when I go to devices there is no list of cameras to select neither is the auto detect option as highlighted in the documentation.
It does not matter what I use in the configuration as a manual option I keep getting an error when using the import function. Any help would be appreciated

Direct camera connection is currently not supported in the Windows version of digiKam. Connections are only possible via storage media. See duplicate bug report.
