SUMMARY Program crashes while trying to close equity account STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Right click on equity account in asset accounts list 2. Select close account 3. Program crashes. No error. No warning. OBSERVED RESULT Program crashes. No error. No warning. EXPECTED RESULT Close equity account SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux Kernel: 6.8.0-55-generic KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: 5.115.0 Qt Version: 5.15.13 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Equity account is zero balance and contains no securities. Account is reconciled.
As far as I know, the only Equity type account is the Opening Balances Account, which cannot be closed. If you mean an account holding a stock within an investment account, there are two things you can try. First, try running the appimage development version (https://kmymoney.org/appimage.html) If that works, then the issue has been fixed in the meantime, and the fix will be included in the upcoming 5.2 release, which while still without a definite release date, is actually getting fairly close. Separately, with either your installed version or the appimage, launch it from the command line and see if there are any useful messages written to the console when it crashes. One additional thing to check - does it also crash if you try to close the account from the Securities tab of the Investments View?
