Description Rosalie 2025-03-16 23:23:57 UTC
SUMMARY

When enabling the auto-hide feature of the taskbar in KDE plasma, when opening dialogs in Qt applications, the taskbar re-appears for a split second before disappearing again, this is rather distracting.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set panel visibility to auto hide
2.  Open KWrite
3.  Settings -> Configure KWrite
4. Taskbar should re-appear for a split second

OBSERVED RESULT

Taskbar re-appears for a split second

EXPECTED RESULT

Taskbar should remain hidden

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Fedora Linux 41
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.12.0
Qt Version: 6.8.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

None, this should be fairly clear and easy to reproduce

I am able to reproduce this, I'll also note that very rarely when opening a dialog the panel will not be shown — but most times this does trigger.
