SUMMARY

If you change the name of a file you want to open using Krita's "Open..." file explorer, Krita thinks the file doesn't exist. Other software, like Photoshop and Blender, allow you to change a file name in the "Open" file explorer and still open the file.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Krita.
2. Click on File -> Open...
3. Locate an image file and rename it.
4. Attempt to open that file.

OBSERVED RESULT

Krita reports that the file you are trying to open does not exist.

EXPECTED RESULT

Krita should know that the file exists because you renamed that file with Krita's file explorer!

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows 11 Home: 10.0.22621 Build 22621

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Most if not all other software, especially image processing software, can do this.
