SUMMARY I have a Samba server that I connect to remotely via wireguard. If I connect via wireguard and do not open the network drive (it is unmounted, but I get same issue mounted) I can open/close dolphin with no issues. But if I open the network directory and perform some action (while saving a file for example), and then turn off wireguard once it completes - dolphin becomes slow to open/respond until i reboot pc. This is an issue only when i am away from home and don't have my samba share on the same network. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. turn on wireguard vpn 2. open non-mounted samba network share in dolphin 3. perform an action 4. close wireguard OBSERVED RESULT Dolphin becomes slow and unresponsive EXPECTED RESULT Dolphin is fast as usual SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.11.0 Qt Version: 6.8.2 Kernel Version: 6.13.6-arch1-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 12 × Intel® Core™ i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz Memory: 23.3 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor 1: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Graphics Processor 2: Intel® UHD Graphics Manufacturer: LENOVO Product Name: 81Y6 System Version: Lenovo Legion 5 15IMH05H
Also, I forgot to add (and don't know how to edit) - when i turn wireguard VPN back on dolphin opens as fast as usual. Turning off vpn, causes it to open slow and become unresponsive again. Again, the network drive IS NOT mounted via fstab. But I get the same issue even if i mount via fstab and turn off wireguard
