Created attachment 179374 [details] Picture1 Hello, I have another suggestion for version 8.7.0. I would like to delete all unconfirmed face markers in the preview. This is useful for large gatherings of people, for anyone who was randomly captured and is completely unknown. Regards Andy
Do you want to remove all unconfirmed faces and/or all unknown faces? Maik
For me, it would make more sense to delete all unknown faces. Because with unconfirmed faces, there's a suggestion, and thus a fairly high chance that a known person is there. Maik
+1 for the Maik suggestion... Gilles
Hi! I think all unconfirmed faces is better. In the example photo, you can see that names were automatically suggested for some faces. False positives. I would have to set those to unknown first. I always confirm all known faces in the photo and ignore the rest. But if you take a photo on vacation or at a large event, you don't need to archive it in the database. Regards Andy

If you delete the face rectange, digiKam may find it again if you run another face scan on the image. I think your goal is to view the image with only the confirmed faces labeled, and any unknown or unconfirmed faces do not have a face rectangle and label shown on the image. Correct? Maik/Gilles, another idea is to have a checkbox for "Hide ignored faces". This would preserve the face data so it wouldn't be detected again, but still only show confirmed and unconfirmed faces. Also, we could make it easier to ignore both unknown and unconfirmed faces. The result I think would be the same, but would preserve the face data in the DB. Cheers, Mike
Hi Mike, Yes, you're right! If I rescanned, the face tags would be added again. Ignoring them is actually better. I was also fooled. After removing all faces from the photo and rescanning, only 7 faces were found. The very, very small faces were removed. They must have contained ancient data. I'll be more careful now. Does it make sense to remove all unknown faces and rescan all photos? Regards Andy
Hi Michael, Yes, the new option for 8.7.0 sounds like a good compromise. Gilles

If you rescan the images with a setting of Large or Extra Large it will remove the tiny faces automatically. If you've already tagged/confirmed the faces you want in the image, then use Extra Large and digiKam will remove most of the face rectangles automatically. Cheers, Mike
I like the idea of disabling ignored faces. I'd also suggest an overlay tool button for this. Maik

(In reply to Andy from comment #10) > Hi Mike, > the setting is always on Extra-Small > > Regards > Andy Hi Andy, I usually keep my Face Size setting at Large. Small and Extra Small should be used for special cases only like images with over 10 faces you want to detect. If you shoot many group photos, I suggest Medium unless digiKam consistently isn't detecting all the faces. Cheers, Mike
