SUMMARY Since Plasma 6.3, I’ve noticed an issue when switching to an activity using the "Win + A" shortcut, which also triggers a virtual desktop switch. When this happens, windows can’t be focused with mouse click, and the mouse cursor still reflects the content of the windows from the previous activity. There is no issue if no virtual desktop switch occurs when changing activities. This issue can be reproduced on a new virtual machine with a fresh user profile running Fedora 41 with X11 Plasma session. Might be related to: - https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/merge_requests/5871 - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390295 STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set up 2 virtual desktops and 2 activities, set window activation policy to "click to focus" 2. Open some windows on each desktop 3. Select different virtual desktops in activities 4. Switch back and forth between activities with "win + a" and try to focus windows with mouse click OBSERVED RESULT Window selection is inconsistent and doesn't succeed. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux: Fedora 41 KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.2
I tried a downgrade and can confirm that this issue doesn’t occur on Plasma 6.2. It is a regression.
I ran into the same issue too (after not using activities in a long while). Looks to be the same as BUG 501393. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 501393 ***
