OBSERVED RESULT You can't change the size of the box afterward! In order to improve that, you have to remove the Haftnotiz (Ctrl-Z) and place a new one by first accommodating enough space for it. That's terribly awkward! What app are you using to create these notes? Okular?
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > What app are you using to create these notes? Okular? yes, I use Okular. After pressing <F6> I can choose between different tools to highlight, underline add notes and so on. These tools are the main reason why I use Okular so much. It is like reading a book and having a set of color pencils at hand and systematically use them to higlight certain parts of it. The function of adding notes is like using a ballpoint writer and add a note to such a document. Unfortunately there is nothing to remove such marks or notes. Using a pencil and an eraser for such things, that's something else which would be great to have at hand.
Ah, I had missed where you wrote this in the text, sorry. Unfortunately that version of Okular is also extremely old. Any chance you can upgrade to something that was released in the last two years? Snap or Flatpak can be be methods of doing this.

I just installed version 24.12.3 as Snap (sudo snap install okular). But that does not work. If I open a pdf file, there is an error message file:///home/adalbert/Downloads/Contact information of the applicant.pdf“ kann nicht geöffnet werden ( ) Notice the empty parentheses just with a linebreak in between them.
That sounds like a Snap packaging error. Maybe try the Flatpak?

If I start Okular from a command line, I get this: $ env BAMF_DESKTOP_FILE_HINT=/var/lib/snapd/desktop/applications/okular_okular.desktop /snap/bin/okular Qt: Session management error: Could not open network socket kf.config.core: Watching absolute paths is not supported "/snap/okular/165/kf6/usr/share/color-schemes/BreezeLight.colors" (okular:30019): GLib-GIO-WARNING **: 23:46:48.917: Error creating IO channel for /proc/self/mountinfo: Permission denied (g-io-error-quark, 14) (okular:30019): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: 23:46:49.012: No GSettings schemas are installed on the system Trace/Breakpoint ausgelöst (Speicherabzug geschrieben) $

When I try to install the flatpak, it comes like this: Similar refs found for ‘okular’ in remote ‘flathub’ (system): 1) app/org.kde.okular/x86_64/stable 2) app/org.kde.okular.kirigami/x86_64/stable Which do you want to use (0 to abort)? When I sum up all these memory requirements, the sum yields <2214,8 MB. But how much less than that? 2,2GB is quite a lot of disk space! Isn't there a Debian package? Maybe the gigantic memory demand results in a Xubuntu 22.04 to be run upon. Then I'll take another look at it after updating my OS to Xubuntu 24.04. But that needs a lot of preparation and can't be done just for fun!

Today I came across a computer which had version 24.12.3 as snap installation. Again not all text was displayed in the sticker note ("Haftnotiz"). Also I was unable to resize the Haftnotiz later. It needs some improvement!
