Description A. Ismail 2025-03-09 05:23:09 UTC
SUMMARY
After the upgrade to Plasma 6, Dolphin is no longer updating the count of items in a folder automatically like it used to. You need to press F5 for it to work.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Dolphin
2. Make sure you have "size" enabled in Dolphin's "Show additional information" menu entry.
3. Move a file or folder into a folder in the current view.

OBSERVED RESULT
The items count does not update.

EXPECTED RESULT
The item indicator should update, adding 1 because you moved one item.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian testing (13/trixie)
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.11.0
Qt Version: 6.7.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- The same applies for deleting and copying items in the folder. It is confusing because it gives the sense that files vanished instead of moved. The built in terminal of Dolphin is also handy for testing this bug.
- Does not affect file size updates, the new file size is almost immediately updated as expected.
