Description Dave 2025-03-06 22:38:55 UTC
Before KDE Plasma <6.3, the mouse cursor/pointer would not appear on the screen if the mouse was not plugged in. If you plugged a mouse in, the pointer would appear immediately. If you unplugged the mouse, the pointer would disappear immediately. This was wonderful.

In the new version, after I unplug the mouse, the pointer stays on the screen and can't be moved.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Unplug mouse (or boot computer with mouse disconnected)

OBSERVED RESULT
The useless cursor remains on the screen

EXPECTED RESULT
The cursor should not appear on the screen

Thanks for the bug report. Just to confirm, are there any other pointer devices (like a touchpad)?
Comment 2 Dave 2025-03-10 17:30:47 UTC
There are no other pointer devices connected.
Comment 3 TraceyC 2025-03-10 20:27:55 UTC
Thanks for confirming that. I'll let one of the kwin folks take it from here.
I see the same behavior on Plasma 6.3.2 and git-master, both systems are laptops.

I installed the latest Fedora updates, which included version 6.3.3 of KDA Plasma, and now the issue is resolved on my system.
