Description Fernando M. Muniz 2025-03-03 18:34:15 UTC
1- Have an image on your Desktop area.
2- Edit it on GIMP.
3- Overwrite the image with GIMP's edited version.

Result:
The thumbnail/miniature of the image is still the old one until F5 is pressed. Sometimes affects the file picker.

In step 3, how are you overwriting the file? Using GIMP's "File > Overwrite" Menu item? Or something else?

The former.

I can reproduce that.

I believe it's the same issue.

This issue seems to also affect the Properties window, it shows incorrect info until the desktop is refreshed.

I've save an image on Desktop with Gimp while having Kdenlive (Flatpak) already opened, then I clicked on "Add clip on folder", it loaded on the Desktop and the image wasn't there.
Turns out that the File Picker also has that issue, it's just rarer because it needs to launch showing that folder by default.
