Description Qu Wenruo 2025-02-24 09:02:31 UTC
SUMMARY

Currently the Kwin uses the same shadow color for all active/inactive windows.
It's only the active window having a stronger shadow.

That is not easy to find the current active window, especially when using the dark theme.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use the default breeze dark them
2. Start 4 or more konsole windows
3. Have a good luck to find the current active konsole window in a quick glance

OBSERVED RESULT
One needs to take several seconds to find out which window is active.

EXPECTED RESULT
One should take no time to find out which window is active just using the shadow color

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.11.0
Qt Version: 6.8.2
Kernel Version: 6.13.2-arch1-1 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I'm not sure if KDE/QT supports different window colors for active/inactive windows.

If possible, that is also a good way to improve visibility.

The shadow comes from the window decoration theme; moving there.
