I can reproduce this on git-master
(If you're using a dark theme, drop the file in a place where the menu will be over a lighter area, like the Folders / Places side panel
or just switch to a light theme)

Also, the problem only happens on X11, not Wayland
Comment 3 elydgolden 2025-06-22 16:52:37 UTC
It appears to be fixed in 6.4. Can anyone else confirm this?
Comment 4 TraceyC 2025-06-23 20:33:24 UTC
I confirm this is fixed on my system as well on git-master. If you see this again, please feel free to set this to REOPENED
Comment 5 elydgolden 2025-07-29 04:12:30 UTC
This seems to not be fixed as of 6.4.3 when trying to copy items from a system directory into a user directory. Not sure why exactly only this case shows the bug

I'm no longer able to replicate this on Plasma built from git-master or 6.5.3. It doesn't matter if I copy from a system directory to a user directory, or to the Desktop. I tested with Breeze Dark and Breeze Light.

What theme are you using? Ideally, could you attach a screen recording of the bug?

Video of the bug in kde-linux

I can replicate on Arch Kde 6.5.3 and on today git branch (on kde linux distro).
I just use Breeze Light.

Thanks for the details, and the recording. Contributors more familiar with this will have to take it from here.
