Description John Veness 2025-02-10 21:34:15 UTC
SUMMARY
For the setting "Open files and folders" which can be either "By clicking anywhere on the row" or "By clicking on icon or name", changing it requires Dolphin to be restarted.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Dolphin
2. Make sure you're in Details view
3. Test how you can currently select files and folders so you know how it works
4. Configure Dolphin
5. Navigate to View > Details
6. Change the "Open files and folders" setting to the opposite of whatever it is currently set to
7. Click OK (or Apply then OK)
8. Without restarting Dolphin, test how you can now select files and folders

OBSERVED RESULT
The file selection mechanism is still as before.

EXPECTED RESULT
The file selection mechanism has changed to the new setting.

I confirm this behavior on git-master. I'm not sure if this is intentional or not.
I'll let one of the Dolphin developers take it from here.
