Description moneyl 2025-02-10 14:55:01 UTC
SUMMARY
When maximizing windows on one of my displays the window goes slightly out of bounds. Content on the edges of the window are partially obscured since they go off screen. It happens with any app I've tested so far (Firefox, KDE settings, Discord, Rider, etc). This is a new problem since I updated 2 days ago. Before that I think I last updated in the end of December.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Maximize any window on the problem display.

OBSERVED RESULT
Content on all edges of the window will be obscured since the window extends maybe 20-40 pixels out of bounds on all edges of the screen.

EXPECTED RESULT
The window should maximize to the exact size of the display its on.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
OS: Arch Linux 6.13.2-arch1-1
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.10.0
Qt Version: 6.8.2
Nvidia drivers: 570.86.16
Wayland

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
I have two 2560x1440 monitors, and one 3840x2160 TV connected to my computer. This problem only happens on the TV. I tried shutting the TV off, unplugging it, and plugging it back in. Did not fix the issue. I also tried changing the TVs resolution to 2560x1440 and adjusting the scaling settings. That also did not fix the problem.

I would attach screenshot, but any screenshot software I've tried (ksnip, flameshot) are still capturing the parts of the windows that are off screen. So instead I'll describe how the KDE System Monitor looks when maximized on that display. Only "Edit" is visible in the top right corner for the "Edit Page" button. On the top left, only the right 1/3 of the toolbox icon is visible. And on the top of the screen the "Overview - System Monitor" text is half off screen. The maximize and close buttons are not visible. The minimize button is only slightly visible.

Can you please run WAYLAND_DEBUG=1 systemsettings and post its output here after maximizing system settings window?
