Dolphin does not show the full path of hovered tabs, which means that when you have a lot of tabs to the point of the name being unintelligible, the infotip/tooltip doesn't help.
I cannot reproduce this. I did the following: Opened Dolphin Created a second tab Navigated to /usr/share/wallpapers/Autumn/contents/images/ so I had a longer path Clicked back to my first tab Hovered over the second tab and the full path /usr/share/wallpapers/Autumn/contents/images/ shows for me. Can you please take a screenshot of the issue if this is not the issue you're facing. Please also fill out the bug template so we can see what versions of Qt, KDE Frameworks, etc that you are using. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window) Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version:
Created attachment 178006 [details] The full path is not shown when the tab is fresh new. So I figured out the REAL issue; If you open the folder in a new fresh tab, it won't show its address.
OK I see. Confirmed on: Operating System: KDE Linux 202502050256 KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.11.0 Qt Version: 6.8.2 Kernel Version: 6.13.1-arch1-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 8 x Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10210U CPU @ 1.60GHz Memory: 7.5 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Intel(R) UHD Graphics Reproduction steps: 1. Right-click on a folder and open in new tab 2. Hover over the new tab
I'd like to point out that because of this existing bug, the tabs get "fixed" upon restarting. So maybe it's related. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449198#c4
