Created attachment 177985 [details] 0 a.d. is visible to discover Discover doesn't show any results for a search for "0 A.D." or "0 a.d." (I'd argue that it should be able to find a result even if the user types "0 ad", but let's keep it simple for now. It's a RTS game and it definitely exists both in zypper (my pkg manager) and in flathub. Proof, if I manually browse to Discover's Games section, then Strategy, it's sitting there in plain sight (screenshot). So why isn't it returned by a search? Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20250130 KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.10.0 Qt Version: 6.8.1 Kernel Version: 6.13.0-1-default (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 7840U w/ Radeon 780M Graphics Memory: 30.7 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon 780M Manufacturer: Framework Product Name: Laptop 13 (AMD Ryzen 7040Series) System Version: A7
Created attachment 177986 [details] no results for "0 A.D." although it's an exact match (same happens with lower case)
Can confirm on: Operating System: KDE Linux 202502050256 KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.11.0 Qt Version: 6.8.2 Kernel Version: 6.13.1-arch1-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 8 x Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10210U CPU @ 1.60GHz Memory: 7.5 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Intel(R) UHD Graphics
Thanks for the confirmation on a newer release (can't find 6.3.80 in the Version dropdown, someone more familiar with the KDE releasing process can pick the corresponding version, I'm sure). For the sake of completeness, the nerd in me tried to escape the dots, but even "0 A\.D\." didn't yield any results - not that it would've been a valid answer since it's terrible UX :D, but it's just a troubleshooting step I tried, so more of an FYI :)
6.3.80 is the latest code "git master", it's not a "normal" released version of the software. For those of us that like to live on the bleeding edge.
Updating with another instance where the search failed me: I was looking for the Zen browser: https://flathub.org/apps/app.zen_browser.zen I typed "zen browser", 0 results from Discover, although it's an almost exact match for the flatpak package id: app.zen_browser.zen Type only "zen", result found.
0 a.d. may be a bug in appstream https://github.com/ximion/appstream/issues/702 zen needs more research
I can find it in Discover if I search for "zen_browser", but not "zen browser". `appstreamcli search` finds it with the latter, though: appstreamcli search "zen browser" Identifier: app.zen_browser.zen [desktop-application] Name: Zen Summary: Stay focused, browse faster Bundle: flatpak:app/app.zen_browser.zen/x86_64/stable Homepage: https://zen-browser.app Icon: app.zen_browser.zen.png ---
