Description Ellie 2025-02-04 22:35:38 UTC
SUMMARY

Tapping the input method tray icon shows on-screen keyboard activated, then nothing happens. It doesn't come up. Since a flatpak bug seems to prevent auto toggle when using KDE https://github.com/flatpak/flatpak/issues/5935 this means a significant of apps seems to be unusable currently, on e.g. a Linux tablet with KDE.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Tap or click "input method" tray icon
2.
3.

OBSERVED RESULT

Seemingly useless popup shows but maliit doesn't show up (or timely disappear for that matter, that one works but only after multiple taps instead of one).

EXPECTED RESULT

Tap on tray icon immediately shows maliit. 2nd tap immediately hides it. Tray icon doesn't constantly disappear into overflow section even when I used it seconds ago.

For what it's worth, I was using my finger and I still can't open it (or timely close it without using multiple taps instead of one). The other ticket seems to speak mainly about mouse clicks. Sorry if that's not relevant, I'm not 100% sure what exactly is the culprit with each respective ticket.
