Try a new digikamrc configuration file. This is located under "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\digikamrc". Rename the digikamrc. During the first setup, simply enter your image folder and where the database is located. If this solves the problem, please send me the "old renamed" digikamrc so that we can reproduce it. Maik

I have downloaded it and tried again to possibly get into the configuration file mentioned by Hirnen in vain
And what's the result ?
That I can download it and when I want to open it is the same problem as when I opened the ticket and your mentioned configuration file does not find my PC

Please check again carefully and delete/rename these two files: "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\digikamrc" "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\digikam_systemrc" These files must exist if you have ever used digiKam-8.4.0. Maik

@sven, Any feedback here ? The digiKam 8.8.0 pre-release Windows installer is updated from Qt framework 6.8.3 to 6.9.0 in one hour. I removed the NVIDIA drivers from this bundle.
