SUMMARY In Debian stable (12 Bookworm), using kdeconnect-sms contacts name are not shown, but *kpeople-vcard 0.1-3 amd64* *libkf5people5 5.103.0-1 amd64* are both installed. Apps permissions are ok in Android, external modules *contact sync* is enabled on both sides. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install Debian 12 2. Install KDE Connect via FDroid 3. Connect them 4. Launch kdeconnect-sms OBSERVED RESULT Only phone numbers are shown. ~/.local/share/kpeoplevcard/kdeconnect-XYZ/ is empty EXPECTED RESULT Contacts got synced. Etienne, were you able to resolve this? Based on your description, I guess you are a new KDE Connect user or you are setting up a new PC. It often takes awhile for KDE Connect to extract the contacts from Android, both because the operation does actually take awhile and also because sometimes the request is lost and it takes a few tries for it to go through.

Hi Simon, thanks for your interest on this, I'm not a new KDE user and this feature was working before I migrate to Debian from Ubuntu. It's been quite a while since I installed and used KDE Connect SMS now (11 jan 2025) and it still not display any contacts name. I have a few contacts 2000+ synced by CalDAV on my phone, don't know if it matters or not.
