Description Alberto Salvia Novella 2025-01-28 19:44:47 UTC
STEPS
1. On (System Settings -> Window management -> Window behavior -> Advanced) set "Window placement" to "maximized"
2. Launch a GTK application, like gnome-boxes.

RESULT
- The window isn't necessarily maximized, but either defaults to the last size or it is drawn without filling the whole screen.
- On pamac on Wayland, the about dialog is even partially drawn outside the screen.

Cannot reproduce on current git master with gnome-boxes, gnome-text-editor, or gedit.

Hi - I can't reproduce on Plasma 6.2.5 (Wayland).

Just to check - when configuring this using Window Rules, the suggestion is given to also force "Ignore requested geometry" to yes. Does that method work on your device?

Thanks!

I can reproduce this more consistently with file-roller.

If I apply that window rule, the window appears on the upper side of the screen instead of the lower side. But still not maximized.

That said I have a display scale of 150%.
