Description Jens 2025-01-25 09:59:27 UTC
SUMMARY
When my laptop resumes from hibernation or sleep, the external screens I have connected take some time to sync and in this time, the login window's focus bounces several times between screens. It is impossible to enter the password until all screens have woken up fully (~ 10..20 seconds) although my laptop's screen is already on and usable and I *could* have already logged in. If I type anyway, the characters of my password get distributed somewhat by random between all password fields on all connected screens.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect some slow external screens
2. Sleep mode
3. Resume from sleep

OBSERVED RESULT
Flickering

EXPECTED RESULT
The login window focus should stay on the primary (internal) screen unless the mouse is actually moved to another screen and clicked, or the internal screen is deactivated for, say, >3s. This way it is possible to log in while the external screens are still synchronizing. This bugs me about 10 times a day and I suppose I'm not alone so I think an investigation would be worth it.
