Created attachment 177647 [details] screenshot of context menu in chrome instead of panles context menu I upgraded from Kubuntu 22.04 LTS to 24.04 LTS. Before I have the 'main panel' - the one at the bottom with kickoff, applications list, systray etc set to auto-hide. After upgrade this behaviour seems to be broken Whenever the panel is made visible - for example i press the 'win' key to open the Kickoff (the start menu - not sure about the name) the panel shows up. But then it just stays visible. Even if i close the menu, select some window (browser, konsole etc), the panel is still visible. When i change the desktop it hides and stays hidden until i show it next time (for example app demands attention so the icon start blinking in the app list or opening kickoff again...). It seems though that KDE thinks the panel is hidden - for example even though i can see it when the chrome is active, when i righ-click on the panel i see the chrome context menu instead (screenshot attached) HideUtilityWindowsForInactive is set to true. I tried to remove the panel and add it again but this doesn't solve the issue kinfo: Operating System: Kubuntu 24.04 KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.11 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.115.0 Qt Version: 5.15.13 Kernel Version: 6.8.0-51-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: offscreen Processors: 32 × AMD Ryzen 9 3950X 16-Core Processor Memory: 125.7 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT
is this bugzilla alive? are there any actions once the bug is reported?
*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 413549 ***
Yes, it's alive; you happened to catch us on a weekend. Personally, I don't triage bugs on the weekend. What's not alive is Plasma 5.27, which has reached EOL at this point. The issue is fixed in Plasma 6.1, so you'll have to upgrade to Kubuntu 24.10 (which includes Plasma 6.1.5) or later to get the fix
