Following discover upgrades to Kubuntu 24.10 on Jan 22 2025, upgraded laptop will not boot. 
The process would stop at the manufacturer splash screen Lenovo - no screenshot available


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
0. All steps with Lenovo Thinkpad P14s with AMD Ryzen 7 processor
1.  Reinstall  previous version of Linux via live CD/USB  using  24.04 LTS
2.  Modify upgrade policy to Normal instead of LTS
3. Reapply upgrade intending to get Version 24.10  via Discover but same problem with loop in the boot logic.

OBSERVED RESULT
Diagnostics of SDD and RAM show no underlying hardware errors

EXPECTED RESULT
Expected to obtain restored version 24.10  but failed on 2 attempts.

2. Not much informatoin availalbe on repair of grub configurations and the like.
