When you set up a shortcut for a widget present in the system tray mini icons(like weather/multimedia) : either from the widget options directly or from the settings>shortcuts>plasmashell>name of the widget Then after a while, the shortcut disapears from the widget configuration and/or ceases working if it was configured from the plasmashell shortcut settings. Solution is to configure the shortcut directly from the system tray entries but not everyone knows that and being given 2 options that randomly cease to work after a while is confusing. I understand that it may not be easy technically to solve, but just a simple communication inside those widgets inviting to use the system tray entries to set up the shorcut could be helpful.
> Then after a while, the shortcut disapears from the widget configuration Can you clarify? Does this always happen for every shortcut you set from the System Tray config window, or only some? Does it disappear as soon as you close the window, or at some later time? We're going to need more details about when exactly the issue happens to have a chance of fixing it.

Any widget shortcut set from system tray config do work fine. Widgets shortcuts set up from the widget configuration disappear from the widget after a while, not directly when closing the window.
After testing on another computer, it seems that the issue is related to the fact that I use several weather widgets in the task panel(I do this because the temperatures are overlaying the weather icon, https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=497471 ) In the end the shortcut was also getting removed even if it was set up from the system tray entries configuration. So what works good : 1 widget with 1 shortcut set up directly inside the widget.
