Description Kosmas Mackrogamvrakis 2025-01-21 10:22:37 UTC
SUMMARY
Selecting a text from the right to the left (marking from the end of the string to the start) in any text related location (konsole, kate, etc), and then middle clicking pastes only part of the selected text, missing characters in the begining of the text (from one to three). This is observed mostly when the selection has a space in the end.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Mark some text from right to left. (including a trailing space if possible)
2. Middle click on a text location

OBSERVED RESULT
Begining part of the marked text is not pasted. (Differs from one to three characters).

EXPECTED RESULT
All the selected text pasted

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Gentoo Linux 2.17
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.7.0
Qt Version: 6.8.1
Kernel Version: 6.12.10-gentoo-x86_64 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 4800H with Radeon Graphics

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This problem does not happen every time, and I can not pinpoint exactly what trigers it. Nevertheless, due to constant mark - middle click I use, it occurs every day to me. I have noticed it since version 6.1.

Thank you for the bug report!

However Plasma 6.1 is no longer eligible for support or maintenance from KDE; supported versions are 5.27. (LTS), and 6.2 (non-LTS) or newer. Please upgrade to a supported version as soon as your distribution makes it available to you. Plasma is a fast-moving project, and bugs in one version are often fixed in the next one.

If you need support for Plasma 6.1, please contact your distribution, who bears the responsibility of providing support for older releases that are no longer supported by KDE.

If you can reproduce the issue after upgrading to a supported version, feel free to re-open this bug report.
