SUMMARY One cannot change the selected entry from within clipboard history. Choosing older entry moves it up, as it is now the currently chosen entry, but pasting something in applications makes the previous entry being pasted. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Copy one text to the clipboard 2. Copy second text to the clipboard 3. Enter clipboard history (either via systray or Meta + V) and select the first text 4. Paste text to any application OBSERVED RESULT Second text will be pasted instead of the first, which is currently the most up top in clipboard history EXPECTED RESULT The first text should be pasted SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.90 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.10.0 Qt Version: 6.9.0 Graphics Platform: Wayland ADDITIONAL INFORMATION n/a
I can't reproduce this issue on current git master. Are you using any non-default clipboard settings? Can you attach a screen recording that shows it happening?
Created attachment 177632 [details] clipboard-history-bug
I have disabled the setting to save history between sessions, enabled non-text selection copying and decreased history size, but no matter what I change, this bug still occurs. I've added the attachment showing that normal copy pasting works fine, but choosing older entry in clipboard history, still pastes the newest selection. I've also discovered that clearing the history doesn't work at all. I clears only after plasmashell restart, because I've disabled saving it between session restarts
Today I got an update to Plasma 6.2.91 in Arch repositories and it seems that this issue is fixed. Clipboard history works as it should, and I can delete entries properly. No wonder this couldn't be replicated on git master as it was already fixed by then probably :-D
Great news!
