Created attachment 177403 [details] What looks to me easier to distinguish icons and easier to read text SUMMARY Dolphin's left panel could have a better default size STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Boot KDE Neon 2. Open Dolphin 3. Maximize Dolphin OBSERVED RESULT Even when Dolphin is maximized the size of the items in the left panel stays the same, which is pretty small Especially compared to the size of the items on the right panel. Also pressing CTRL++ or CTRL +- always affects just the right panel. EXPECTED RESULT I expect that the icons and the text of the items on the left panel are easier to distinguish / read by default, at least when Dolphin is maximized or it's tiled half screen. An Icon size: Large (32x32) seems to me to be a better default Icon size: Auto Resize seems to be a good default too, even though I prefer the fixed Large size, as this one has an animation which annoys me a bit because is a little distracting, I rather have the large size all the time. So, if the large size cannot be the default for all window sizes, because in the case of too many items and small window sizes it will introduce a scroll bar, then it would be nice if it would be the default at least for the maximized and half-screen tiled windows. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.11.0 Qt Version: 6.8.1 Kernel Version: 6.8.0-51-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Hardware: Dell Inspiron 5770
This is intentional the way it is, sorry. Sidebar icons don't get huge like that on maximization anywhere else.
