You are using the Ubuntu Snap digiKam package. Snap packages are useless for digiKam because they use a sandbox. Use our AppImage on Ubuntu.

Comment 3 StephaneA 2025-01-15 09:14:16 UTC
AppImage is way too slow on my old system.
version 8.5.0 of Digikam used to run perfectly well until recently. I suspect an Ubuntu update to be the cause
Comment 4 caulier.gilles 2025-01-15 15:50:08 UTC
I use Ubuntu to build the AppImage. It run perfectly here... 22.04 is the minimum version compatible.

Hello,
I got same problem after a snap refresh.
It has updated Chromium and Firefox.
Snap dikikam 8.5 was working fine before the refresh, not anymore after the refresh.
Comment 6 Scarlett Moore 2025-01-18 14:19:49 UTC
I am trying to work out the snap.
Comment 7 Scarlett Moore 2025-01-21 14:18:43 UTC
Several of our snaps hit this bug. I have filed a bug upstream snapd https://bugs.launchpad.net/snapd/+bug/2095418
Comment 8 Scarlett Moore 2025-01-24 19:57:15 UTC
This has been fixed for snap and released to stable
Comment 9 caulier.gilles 2025-01-25 03:50:17 UTC
Thanks you Scarlett to maintain the Snap package. All my best for 2025.
