With "Show Rulers" and "Rulers Track Pointer" enabled in the view menu, the ruler stops tracking the cursor while the user is drawing / interacting with the canvas with any tool. It seems to only update any time the mouse button or stylus is not pressed down.

It would be more useful if it would update during the stroke, when drawing freehand lines etc.
