P.S. my GPU is an AMD RX 6800 using the RADV drivers from mesa.
Comment 2 Nate Graham 2025-01-08 16:56:24 UTC
What does `kscreen-doctor -o | grep HDR` say?
Comment 3 Marco 2025-01-09 08:52:26 UTC
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #2)
> What does `kscreen-doctor -o | grep HDR` say?

It says HDR: disabled

Any news about that. Is there anything else I can provide to trubleshoot the problem?
Comment 5 Zamundaaa 2025-01-17 21:18:58 UTC
Sorry, this kind of went under in my emails.
> Wide Color Gamut: incapable
This is why it's not shown in the display settings.

Are you using a NVidia GPU? If so, which driver version?
Comment 6 Marco 2025-01-18 08:53:42 UTC
My GPU is an AMD RX 6800 and I am using the latest Mesa with the RADV driver on Arch. HDR was working some months ago.
Comment 7 Marco 2025-01-18 08:54:24 UTC
Note that it does not say HDR: unsupported but disabled. However there is no checkbox I can click on the screen settings to enable it.

Can you attach the output of drm_info?
Also, the output of
edid-decode /sys/class/drm/card1-HDMI-A-1/edid
might be helpful too.
Comment 10 Marco 2025-02-13 08:35:25 UTC
Dear all,

sorry for making you loose time on this. It turns out my TV has an option where I can select which HDMI input is an HDMI+ source (whatever that means), and after setting the HDMI input to which my PC is connect to HDMI+ the HDR option is back again!
Comment 11 Zamundaaa 2025-02-17 22:12:19 UTC
Ah, no worries. Not the first time that display manufacturers make things unnecessarily confusing!
