SUMMARY On KDE Plasma 6.x, the settings window forgets its size when closing and opening it again. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open the settings window 2. Maximize the settings window 3. Close the settings window 4. Open the settings window again OBSERVED RESULT The settings window shows up in its original size. EXPECTED RESULT The settings window shows up maximized. This was the case on Plasma 5.x, but not anymore. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS KDE Plasma Version: 6.x Qt Version: 6.x
What Plasma version are you using, and in what distro? This was fully fixed in Plasma 6.2 IIRC. It's working as expected with those steps for me in current git master, which will soon become Plasma 6.3.

I saw this happen in Void Linux over Christmas (haven't tested it again since), that was probably Plasma 6.2.4 and a couple of days ago on Debian Sid (Plasma 6.2.4). I'll see if I can try again on Void tomorrow and will report back, as they are on 6.2.5 now. Out of curiosity and for future testing, how do you run the current git master? Do you build it yourself, or do you use a specific distro that keeps it up to date like KDE Neon Unstable?
I build everything from source; see https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/development#The_main_way_to_develop_KDE_software:_kde-builder I'd also recommend testing the Plasma 6.3 beta (released soon) if you can. It'll almost certainly be fixed there!

Sorry for the delay, work got in the way! Thanks for the advice! I just tested Plasma 6.2.5 on Void Linux and the issue persists. Haven't been able to test 6.3 yet.
I just realised this issue is not present on the Wayland session, but it is happening on the X11 session, which is what I prefer to use. Sorry I didn't notice before!
Adding the x11-only keyword
I can confirm this is solved both on Wayland and X11 on Plasma 6.3.x
Great, thanks for checking back in!
