-- Information about the crash:
On boot and when opening an application (any application) the applications first open then crash and reopen, this happens only when opening applications from the KDE interface and not from the command line. This is also not limited to the applications but also interacting with the desktop enviroment like right clicking applications in the task bar, or right clicking the desktop to access the settings. The easiest way to replicate this is to press the super key (windows button) and type the name of the application like firefox or thunderbird and the crash will occur if there are no instances of the applications.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

Correction, the plasmashell crashes when opening applications not the applications.

Switch back to the default renderer and this should be fixed for you; see Bug 482754.
