Description fotograaf 2025-01-01 18:13:50 UTC
Hard to reproduce.

Images that are marked with a 'globe' icon AND show up on a map in Digikam, did not always have their GPS tags written to the XMP file.

I found about 1/3 of a particular file series was missing the GPS data in the sidecar file.
It was eventually resolved using "Write Metadata To Files'

It might be a timing issue. I tag and assign GPS in bulk but sometimes it requires a bit of rework when I am importing many hundreds of photos, tagging, GPS-locating and then adding more files, writing all data to files, adjusting tags, writing metadata to files, etcetera.

I have lazy sidecar writes set to ON and my files live on a network drive so reading and writing the info of a thousand files takes several minutes.

Again, we need a log from a sidecar write operation where the problem occurs. I suspect enabled write/read file locking in the NAS.
