Icons that could previously be black and white now must be symbolic.

SUMMARY
KDE Plasma previously allowed custom icon theming and alignment with the panel style. For instance a style like pink bunny emphasizes a distinct appearance for which flat symbolic icons would not fit. Previously this could be achieved with the icons in the plasma style. Is there a way to incorporate custom plasma style icons in an icon theme to maintain this functionality?

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set an icon theme
2. Set your theme to fluffy bunny or low opacity theme
3. Look where panel symbolic icons are

OBSERVED RESULT
Plain symbolic icons are observed reducing readability across different panel styles

EXPECTED RESULT
Maintain functionality to have custom icons for the panel's theme

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Neon
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.6.0
Qt Version: 6.7.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Attached is an example of icons, that previously could be white and black icons now have to choose a color.

I'm afraid this was an intentional change in Plasma 6, sorry.

As for the issue in your screenshot, that appears to be different, caused by using an icon theme that uses dark-colored icons and that don't respect the system's color scheme properly
