SUMMARY The Qwant Maps service was shut down in May 2024, according to https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Qwant_Maps. In the 'Default Applications' KCM, Qwant is still the default Maps utility in KDE Neon.
Hi - thanks for your bug report! I installed KDE Neon in a VM a couple of weeks ago, and got Google Maps as the default option. However, either way Qwant is still listed as an option and should be removed based on what you mentioned.
Hmm, I'm not sure what decides the default option in Neon, I got this in the Neon live environment so I assumed it is the default value. But to be honest, having third-party online services as the default Maps "application" seems a bit weird to me. And Google Maps doesn't really align with KDE's ideology.
Seems fixed here: https://invent.kde.org/frameworks/kguiaddons/-/commit/26d6a8112b2f5ed1bf7365b433a94e81b4f7ef6a
